- Environmental monitoring – process and activities to characterise and monitor the quality of environment.
- - Used in preparation of environmental impact assessment : human activity carry a risk of harmful effects on the natural environment.
- - Monitoring strategies – to establish trends in environmental parameters. Result will be reviewed, analysed statistically.
- - Some monitoring (under study) techniques, such a gill netting fish to estimate populations, can be very damaging.
- - Monitoring parameters : chemical, biological, radiological, microbiological, population.
